I currently have a Viper alarm and wanted to upgrade to this model since it is made by DEI- Can I do this with my existing wiring from the Viper alarm since they are both made by DEI.
I would like to avoid installation charges if at all possible. Me and my voltmeter are pretty competent with electrical installs.
Any ideas?

How old is your Viper alarm? If it is over 5 years or so, then the main wiring harness may be different, but all you would have to do is cut off the old one, then match up the new one wire to wire, as all DEI's wire colors have stayed the same from day one almost. Everything else should plug into the brain wihtout a problem. You will have to run a new antenna and its special wire that connects it to the brain. If you do have an old viper, the LED plug that goes into the brain, may be too small, as DEI changed the size of that plug about 4 or 5 years ago. So you may have to run the new LED light. If you have a newer Viper alarm, then everything should be just plug and play. I have the Python 2-way LCD system, and love it. I also install DEI stuff for a living emoji

Sweet. My viper alarm is less than 9 mos old. So I shouldnt have to many problems and the harness should be plug and play. That is great. I might hit you up for some other answers later on.
Thanks,
Chris b.
