I saw this a long time ago, I think it was like a filter that would let more sound out. I didnt really get into it that much, but I think that you remove sum rear trunk panels and then remove the paper filter like thingy, does anybody kno what I am talkin about and have the write up or pictures on how to do it? Well do you mean the little flap like thing on the passenger side in the hatch area. I'm pretty sure that it's to relieve a little pressure in the cabin for thing like when you close your doors and stuff. I just put some duct tape over it from the inside. but i cant really tell any difference.

^^^ correct, although duct tape has to much elasticity to it and will still cause pressure relief when closing the doors.

so do you want to open it up, or close it off? trust me when i say you dont want to close it off. the pressure wave from shutting the doors can hurt your ears at times (with the wall i have for the subs, i am isolated from this feature). there is no reason to "open it up", because its already open. are you wanting the music to be louder outside or somthing? im just wondering because its such a strange post, LOL.

Im stupid...I just want everyone outside to hear my bang, hehe, its so damn loud inside, then when I open a door everyone can feel it outside, and I thought that if i removed that flap it would be louder. So is it already removed? I should cover it up huh, then it would be louder inside?

In my opinion, it is better to be seen and not heard!

Many people want to have people hear the bass and know that they are coming down the road. What does that accomplish, besides drawing attention from police?

In addition, most bass that is heard outside of the car sounds like a$$. Dynamat and other sound deadening materials are sold for a reason. They are designed to eliminate road noise and increase the density of the metal body of the car. The by-product of this deadening is deeper/cleaner bass inside the car.

I compete and it is amazing to do the spl portion of a show. I usually can hit in the upper 130's (my subs are old, so bye-bye to the days in the mid 140's). The bass can not be heard outside the car, but when I open the doors to remove the mic, it's amazing what people say.

Crazy bass on the inside and no sound on the outside is a properly built car, in my opinion.

boy this brings back memories of the bass head days I used to compete in SPL competitions (hey i got about 4 trophies here ) i woiuld be hitting around 150 db's or more, DRIVING around town. Haha..yeah i think i have lost a little bit of my hearing in the process. Thats another thing, i really would not like to have to get hearing aids in the near future. Its funny though, i barely even listen the the system anymore, cause i always want to listen to the motor and the turbo, hehe.. But yeah, when i opened my doors of my old car ( 96 Grand Prix) my t-shirt would be going back and forth and vibrating with the bass if i was near the opened door. Loud enough for me. Not really into it any more though..now its turbos and performance
