Ss anywas like the topic said i was installing another amp and sub i got and I hook it up and no sound so I move the sub out/pre out (don't know what its called) wires coming from my head unit to my other amp and sub and it works fine. So I start freakin out. Then I start messing with all the wires going to the new amp and still nothing. I then begin to pull the sub out wires out of the new amp and as i'm pulling them out one by one it starts to work with only one of the wires plugged in. It dosen't matter which one. So my question is can i run both amps and subs with only the one wire in each without any problems? Or if not whats the problem with the amp? Because i hooked up that sub to the other amp and it worked just fine. So right now both are working. Thanks for any help.

to answer your final question, yes you can run the amps with only one cahnnel of input, most amps will bridge the signal and supply it to both channels if only one RCA is plugged in. check the manual of the amp to see what side (left or right) it needs to be to run in mono; there might also be a "run in mono" switch on the amp.

HOWEVER...that seems to be a band-aid for a bigger problem, and may cause hella problems down the road. my suggestion is to leave the iwreing alone on the amp that is known to work, but replace thats amp with the amp that doesnt turn on. does it act normally? or does it still display the same problems? if it still doesnt work, im guessing that theres somthing wrong with the amp. if it DOES work though...theres somthing wrong with your wiring. check the ground wire, thats the problem in 99% of most installs.

also, have you set the crossover correctly? if you accedentally put it on "high pass" for example, you wouldnt see the sub move very much. check all the contoles first before you start tearing stuff apart.
