I don't know how serious of a system you're setting up but these radio shack tweets work fine for me ..... www.xclipsion.com/mobile/eclipse/dashspeaker.html

I don't know where you live that the Radioshack still carries car audio stuff because the ones around here stopped. Not all the stuff they have (had) there was that bad. My friend bought his speakers there and it sounded pretty good. I think it's more important that you power them with a good amp that gives clean sound. Polk makes a good set and I don't know if the price above is good but look into it. Hear stuff before you buy it. Good luck.

I bought some off these tweeters off of ebay for under $10, and I think they are well worth the money. They fit perfect in the dash and its cake to install. They may not be as good as those Polks, but in my opinion...it's just tweeters.

Keepin it clean!!

im not going to give any suggestions on make or model, but i must say that radioshack, etc. dont neccisarily sound bad, it totally depends on what you are looking for, and the install and use of them. no matter what, dont send them any signal they cant reproduce (i.e., dont send them a full range signal), and dont over power them or under power them with a clipped preamp signal.

get whatever tweet you want and use a hole saw in the appropriate diameter to hollow out the factory tweets. the hole saw should only cost you a couple bucks (assuming you have a drill), and it works very well. then you can flush mount the aftermarket units in the factory housing.

-AHH!, I re-read your post - nevermind, I understand now.

Your telling me you got a power drill with a hole saw on the end to drill out your dash slammed up against the windsheild??? I've played with those tweeters a thousands times, unless you had the windsheild out - that ani't happening. I'd like to see some pics of that if you have them.

I got those same exact ones, got them for like 10$ also. I swear by them. They sound great, so long as you have or plan to get a sub also. Without a sub to balance it out, they put out a lot of treble, and you will need to play with your head unit to make em sound right. With my system, which wasnt too expesive but wont be winnin any competitions, they sound great. If your goin for something higher than everyday showin off, like the pro level, spend more and get better. I have yet to be dissapointed by them though.

I also got those tweeters off ebay for $7. They work good. I agree that you might need a sub to balance out the sound of them because they produce a lot of treble. I'm running then off my stock HU and they say they can take 300w...

MB Quart makes a 2" tweeter which would be your BEST bet, but they are kinda pricey! Sometimes you get what you pay for!
