Ok, I've got two 10" 800 watt subs with 400 watts constant. I want an amp for each sub, but not sure how to choose them. I was looking at a 2 channel 600 watt amp for each sub. Would that work good? Also I am going to get an amp for all my mids and highs. How many watts is good for that? And how many channels would it have to be? Please let me know. I'm kinda new to systems and am not really sure on any of this. Thanks.

OK, first of all, don't worry about the wattage rating of your subs or amps. Many people are hooked on these numbers, but once you do some research, you'll find that most are just an arbituary number. You have to know how each amp or sub is rated to get the actual comparison.
Look into a single mono amp for your subs. You will have a simplier system with a mono amp for subs and a 4-channel amp for your "inside" speakers. Tuning two sub amps is difficult and you will get better performance out of a single sub amp.
Go into a Circuit City or "mom & pop" type shop and start asking some questions. Tell them what subs you have and they will fit you with the proper amps. Always over-power the speakers and turn the gains down, as you will get better sound quality.
