#4571, "Which new headunit looks good?"

Well, Im looking for a new headunit, ive had the same one for 2yrs now and want something better.

I just got a job at circuit city and can get merchandise at store cost. Post pics of all the new headunits that you like or recommend. So it doesnt matter if the Headunit is older and now is on sale because I will still have to pay the original store cost.

which ones do you recommend?
Thanks
james

oh yeah.. i almost forgot.. emoji

yeah you'll need external amplifiers for your speakers and subs, since this one does not contain any internal amplifier, just line output.

that oversized alpine will not fit in our cars w/o modification. I saw jamesman's car and he had to modify the area around the HU.

I really like that 2nd alpine that IAMNOTWHOIAM and oz_gs have. What kind of amp do you need to go with it because of the lack of internal amp? Im also very tempted into getting this one right here. I can get it for less than $500. What do you think about it? Any good or bad stories about it? Ive "heard" that Sonys have problems with disks that skip easily. Is that true?

ya just need your typical 4 channel amp to power your speakers. essentially that HU only has RCA outputs.

I had a sony in my 88 tercel. It never failed me. I got a pioneer for my eclipse. It started screwing up and wouldn't play discs. Best buy wanted to send it off. I changed the fuse in the back- FINE. Then about a year later, happened again. It stopped working all together I think. Don't even miss it. I got the new sony. It's a lot better. The stereo shop I deal with swears by clarion tho. Clarion does have some tight shit out.

This is the one I got the other day Alpine CDA- 7894. I liked it because of Alpines tuning capabilities, the mp3 player, and because the buttons can be green or orange. That way it will match the interior. I got it for 287 plus 15 or so for shipping.
