any recommendations on brands and where to buy a motorized antenna? my car's got the fixed mast type antenna. nothin wrong with it or anything i'd just rather not have it stickin up all the time emoji it doesn't seem like something that'd be very hard to put in... i think i might hafta run the wires an stuff. anyone know if the wiring's already there but just not hooked up? anyone done this before? TIA

oh yea i think i want a black one if that makes any difference. i saw some on crutchfield that come in black or crome. didn't get the chance to really look around for other places.

I did it. I bought the antenna at Discount Auto parts for about $35. It was really easy. I used the light already there to power it and I used the remote for my amp( I know...lazy).

The whole job took about an hour. Most of it was taking off the back panels and stuff. I like it much better than that long ugly antenna.

are you talkin 'bout the trunk light that you tapped into? isn't that only powered when the trunks open? or did you tap into it before whatever triggers it? anymore info on that would be great. emoji i'm already tapped into the trunk light for the neon i have in there, but that only comes on with the trunk open. i'm guessing there's wires for a continuous 12v source back there but it only powers the light when the trunks open.

thanks

Be careful taking it off...I tried to undo the antenna with a wrench and it was on there so damn tight that it popped loose and put a small warp in my fender...which I did get back down, but that's not the point emoji

If you can't get it off with a wrench use a soldering iron to melt the plastic base. Then it will slip through the fender and out the trunk.
