I did attend the 2002 IASCA World Finals, but had many problems. With the help of JL Audio, my car was gutted in their tweak-n-tune booth to track down a noise problem. Luckily, I found the problem, but that was only the start of my problems.

I didn't place as high as I would have liked in Sound Quality, but next year will be much different. I placed 10th in Sound Quality in the Pro Street 1-600 watts class.

I did pretty good in Tuner Jam, however. I won my class...Domestic, Mild. That's right...Domestic. Technically, Talons are an Eagle product and that puts me in a different class. Even though our cars are made in the same plant in Normal, IL, I compete in a different class.

For my efforts, I received a 4' trophy for tuner jam and I should get a plaque or something for sound.

On a side note, my girlfriend had many photographers taking pics of her. Look in some upcoming magazines for some photos of her.

LOL..thats funny about your talon being in the domestics. strange how a couple cosmetic details can change the classification so much.

whats up with your girlfriend getting her pics taken? is she a model, or just hot and the photographers liked her alot?

sorry mods, ive gotten off topic emoji

Actually, Melissa is working to develope a portfolio to try her hand at modeling. Rob Hephner (not related to Hugh) of "Car Sound & Performance" magazine is giving us a hand. He's been gracious enough to take some pics of her.

On my website, we have some of her from last year. That was before a tan and losing almost 15 pounds. The pics from IASCA Finals will be much better.

Here's a site where she's promoting the SLAPshow.com Baby Doll T-shirts. http://www.slapshow.com/store/index.htm

Well, anyway, sorry mods for going off topic! My goal of posting about IASCA and SLAP is to get more DSM's into competition. Both are great format and every competitor is welcome.

As far as the differences between the cars, there is more than just a set of bumpers and a badge on the steering wheel. The electrical systems are a little different. For example, as Eclipse has a flasher for the hazzards and one from the turn signals, while the Talon only has one. The Eclipse's is located to the left of the steering column, under the knee bolster, while the talon's is located behind the center vents. Even though they came off the same assembly line, there are some significant differences. Try getting body kits for a Talon.

See you in the lanes!!!

You don't compete in USACi events?

Actually, I would love to compete in USACi, but the World Finals is during a black-out period for vacations at my work. I'm a Sales and Installation Manager for Circuit City, so the weekend before Thanksgiving is a big weekend for us.

I will be competiting in the following formats next season, with the goal of winning the Finals:
SLAP
Pro Street (not sure of what class)
Advanced Mitsubishi

IASCA
Pro Street Unsponsored
Tuner Jam (Domestic Mild)

In addition, I will hit some shows in the following formats:

USACi Not sure of class
MECA May go pro or master...not decided

See you in the lanes!!!

I think you might be wrong about this. I have a 99GS and I believe that the flasher is near the center vents/heater controls. When I use my turnsignal I hear the clicking from the area of the center vent. I messed it up some how and now my left turnsignal (rear driver's side only) and my hazards (rear driver's side only also) doesn't work. It all started when I pinched a wire from the rear driver's side tail light.

I'm only going off what the Chilton's guide states about the Eclipse. That differs from what the Talon Shop manual stated.

Who Knows!!!
