#430, "looking for a decent 4 channel amp....."

I am not much of an car audio guru, but I would like to have your opinions on Profile amps. In particular the Clarus series CL640 and the California series 640SX.

I currently have......
an old Eclipse head - 8 watts rms and 30 peak
the head is pushing two MB quarts and the stock 6x9's
PPI sedona 360 watts x1 into 2 JL 10w4 subs

I need a 4 channel amp that will drive my front and rear speakers. I do not want to spend more than $200 if possible. I would think that these cheaper amps would be better than what I have now.

Go to sounddomian.com I saw an Orion cobalt 50 watts x 4 for $159. I have the two channel version with 260 watts pushing 2 10's, sounds really good. and planning on getting the 4 channel amp of the same kind..

Yeah stay away from profile. I have known a few people that bought profiles and they broke after like 1 year. I bought a USAcoustics amp from Crutchfield. It was 150 x 2 or 450w 4 ohm mono. I was happy with this amp. I had decent bass with 3 10's for a few years. Then the amp broke. I opened it up and the circuit board looked very nicely done. 2 caps had come off so I got some at radio shack and re soldered it. Then 1 week later I had to fix the other 2 caps. Worked for another week and something else came off. I resoldered it and took the circuit board out to the car and hooked it up to see what else was gonna melt when it got hot. Well I didn't even think about the heat sink. Needless to say the board smoked in about 10 seconds without the heatsink. So I bought a good amp this time. I got an Alpine V-12. It is rated much lower wattage than the USAcoustics but it KICKS SERIOUS ASS!! It is a MUCH cleaner, clear sound and it's a lot louder. I learned not to buy cheap but that amp did last me almost 3 years.
