I had my ground wire just going to some random bolt back in the hatch area and it was working fine. Well a few days ago I started getting some big time distortion everytime I like hit the gas or stuff like that. And I know it has to be the ground wire. Where is a better place to attached my ground wire in the hatch area?? TIA

the seatbelt bolts or the bolt that holds the spare in are the only ones i can think of back there. ideally youd want to just drill your own so as to avoid long ground wires running everywhere. make sure you sand down to the metal bewfor eyou attach it, to make better contact and less resistance from the paint.
also.. are you sure the ground wire is the problem? you said it "distorts" when you punch it, right? is it making more of a crackling sound? sounds like maby your RCAs are going bad. fiddle with the RCA connectors at each end of the cable and see if you get the same results.

I believe i have mine grounded in the spare tire well. I took off a small section of paint, down to bare, shinny metal, used a ring terminal on the end of the wire, a star washer, then bolted it down tight. I chose the spart tire well becasue you can easily get to the other side of the bolt from under the car. Also, be sure that the battery-to-chassis ground at the fender by the battery is the same way. Be sure its on bare, clean metal, and tight to the frame. A ground doesnt get much better than that.
