Question for all you Audiophiles. I found a set of 6x9's for the rear. I also found a set for 6 1/2"s component system for the front.
I have a couple of questions. Will 6 1/2"s fit and what is the depth that can go in the doors and still look factory. They are "KENWOOD KFC-P603" and has a depth of 2 1/8"
Also on the 6x9"s what is the depth that I can put there? I found a set of KFC-6908 also from Kenwood.
I am on a tight budget and dont want to make a mistake with what I am buying and have them not fit properly.
Also I was thinking of adding a Subwoofer to the car...maybe 2 10's just to irk the g/f. BUT I was told since I have an underdrive pulley that this would screw up my Altnernator due to the extra load...is this true...I dont want a big amp...just something to give it some nice bass.

Dude, check out the sig...Alpine TypeR's all the way around. Those bitches are huge and I did have to mod my doors to get them to fit...the Kenwoods? Piece of cake. We have 6.5" openings in the front and they are like 3.5" deep so no worries. And the back is no sweat either. If I can get those battleship sized TypeR's in there you're set

agreed...our doors are relativly huge. you might have to slightly modify the black plastic mounting bracket to get the 6.5 in there, but nothing major. while you already have the door apart, i would recomend putting some damping material like dynamet, etc. in there.
also, you shouldnt have a problem with your alternator assuming you are smart about your bass. if you just want a little bump, go with somthing around 300 watts, that should be plently; and if you notice your headlights blinking to the bass and stuff while your at a light, turn it down a little to avoid stress on the alt.

I wouldn't worry about depth. I have 6 1/2 Kicker comps in the doors and they are huge! If I were you I would sell the 6X9's. I have never been a fan of them. When was the last time you seen anyone compete in the pro class with 6X9's? Just my $.02.
