they are in a ported box currently, and i have the options of a sealed box w/ 0.65 cubic feet/sub, or 1 cubic foot/sub...

also, one of my buddies is talkin about a bandpass box...

which one should i get????

Actually, if ya go to JLAudio.com, you can get recomended box setup's. We just built an Isobarik JL box, and lemme tell ya, DAYUM does it pound. Pushed by a little Pioneer amp too(for now)/no not my car. haha.. But they have some good suggestions in their "Tech" section.

dont get a bandpass box.. they dont sound good in our cars..

Yeah...Bandpass = Extremely Loud Crap

Go sealed and put about a 75-80 degree slant on your box so they aren't facing directly back but upwards slightly.

bandpass is loud and really boomy at low frequencies, but doesnt sound as clean as a sealed box.

Well do you want to port it or seal it? If you want to seal it you go with .65...if you want to port it go with 1.0...always keep in mind your volumetric displacement of the sub when doing your calculations.
