This was basically covered in a thread called "Best components you've ever heard" on the same opening page...it has a flaming icon. JL makes okay stuff...most of us on these pages are MB Quart, Focul, Fosgate, Alpine Type R (Me), and more of the high end stuff.

How much are you looking to spend? From what I've heard from other people, focal's have good midbass, but people tell me the same thing about boston acoustics and memphis, which to my ears (it may be b.c I was trying to look for something that would even out my one subwoofer), didn't sound that great. Except for the highs, boston acoustics and memphis are really good for the highs, the memphis speakers I heard were only running off an alpin HU but still sound great for highs. If you want some even bass and treble, go for new front speakers and an 8 or 10 " sub.
