I would go panasonic they have some really nice units with high volt preamp outs and nice display's for cheap. I think I saw a real nice one for 350-400 in crutchfield. I've had my panisonic for years never skipped once and the sound is great.

panasonic will go perfectly with your much-loved blue/silver scheme and they are great units. Not as much bells and whistles as pioneers usually have but you can get a good one for like $250 and spend the rest on dsp or cd changer or anything else.

the ghost. I thought about this one panasonic mp3 player, but I got the newest sony flip down face with remote. It's a black face with graphics going all crazy while up, an when u touch a button on the remote, it flips down. It is silver with a blue lit bubble in the center. I really like it. Sounds a lot better than my old pioneer. More of a crisp sound and easier to adjust for better sound quality. It has subwoofer volume control, etc.
