im installin my amp now with a friend whose set up about 4 systems so far. we need to know what wire is for the remote power for the sub.

my head unit is in the sig. which wire do i use to make the sub turn on when my reciever goes on???

Should be a blue wire with white stripe. If it doesn't have one then sometimes you can use the power antenna lead.

well we installed the amp and sub and tuned it all (sounds awesome!!) ut we didnt use a remote cause we didnt check back here, so we ghetto rigged a light switch and use that to turn it on.

ill check tomorrow to see if i can find the remote power lead inside as i bolt my head unit all in again.

I'd fix it right away. You'll burn that switch out using it for your amp pretty quick. You have to use a switch and a relay for turning on/off amps. Try to find the blue/white or just solid blue wire behind your radio. If you don't have one use the red wire. It's switched power so when you're radio comes on your amp will too. Just trying to save you some more work down the line

well...

i found the power lead but it is goin to my cd changer. id just splice it but...there is a fuse in the middle of it and it looked a little complicated. do i cut it before or after the fuse, and what else would i need to do/buy?

You cut it after the fuse.... its to keep that wire from frying your head unit if it get grounded accidently.

Should be all you need .... if you do end up blowing the fuse once your amp is hooked up you will have to look into getting a relay. It should have enough power to run your amp and your changer though.

Pull your radio out. Find the blue wire, or the blue/white wire. Some HU's have both of those colors, one is for amp turn on, one is for the power ant. Dont use the power ant one, because this wire turns off when you use the cd player, then your amp would shutt off. You dont need to use a relay for the amp turn on wire. Its a low current circuit. Actually the amp turn on wire is going into the amp right to a relay inside the amp to turn it on. Just dont go hooking up more than 3 or so amps to a remote turn on wire off of a head unit. THEN you would need to use a relay, because it may blow the output of the turn on wire of the head unit because of too much current draw.

im going to get to that fuse, and make a cut and strip about a half inch. then take the remote wire from the amp and twist it into the wire i just cut and stripped. cover it up in electrical tape and i should be done.
