I'm having a problem, is not eclipse related, but you guys rock and music is music. is a 240sx coupe, small as my ^%$#@ but cool. anyway

it came with 4 Alpine 6 1/2" (two in the doors, and two in the back panel, behind the back seat).

the thing is it's sounds like crap, is like listening to AM, AND all the sound comes from the rear, i have an aftermarket HU and i put the balance to more Front then back, just to be neutral.

what can i do to fix this, i have looked for costum kick panels but can not find them,

I'm not familiar enough with that car to really help out without a description. Tell me where your speaker locations are in reference to your ear height. Do you have door speakers? Things like that.

Also what kind of head-unit do you have, did you install the alpine speakers, what series they are...things of that nature. I'll tell you what my first response is going to be. Get a set of component speakers for front, coax for back, 4 channel amp (not head unit amp), seperate sub amp, and some subs or a sub. Depending on your cash flow and how much you want to focus on audio you can go deeper.

Sounds almost like you may have a phase issue. In othere words on one or more of your speakers may have the positive and negative wires reversed. This creates very distorted sound because the sound waves will actually start cancelling each other out. You bass will sound very muddy and not very loud. In general just shitty sound...

You might want to just check it out.....

Nope the came with the car.

they are 6 1/2 they are rated 30 watts RMS, and 90 max watts, i don't know the exact model number


i can get better speakers, and the sub will most defently help, but since i'm getting more sound from the back then the front, won't adding more in the back.

if for the time being (moneywise is a...) i decide to stay with those speakers, what would be the ideal amp to buy, how many watts
do i look for 400 max watts amp, or one that gives me around 200 watts rms.

Save your money for a good amp and speakers rather than buying one for the time being. Check your phase issue mentioned before. This is a good possibility I didn't think of. If you have a VOM (volt ohm meter) check the resistance on your speakers up front, they may be blown (if the phase thing isn't a solution). Your resistance will read about 3.4-3.6 on a 4 ohm speaker. They just call them 4 ohm
