Do our cars have stock 6x9's because it looks like who ever had my car before me put 5.25" circle speakers in place of them.

Some have 6x9's and some have 6 1/2. I think the 96-96 have 6x9's and the 97's have 6 1/2.

I have a 97 RS and I have 6 1/2 in the back.

Depends on if you have the upgraded Infinity system or not. The Infinity came with 6X9's in the rear and the one without came with 6.5's. Confused me too. I took my stuff apart ready to put some 6X9's in and found a 6.5...put a set of Alpine Type R coaxials in anyhow and didn't notice anything missing emoji
