#3480, "fiberglass or bondo"

I have had my box built for a while, but I have been thinking of changing it a bit, i want to maybe take the carpet off and maybe put a layer of bondo on it I don't know if that would work at all, or do fiberglass on the outside, how would bondo look painted, just wondering, thanks

Bondo body filler is fiberglass resign with filler so it takes up more volume. I'm not sure what type of filler the used. But for smoothing a surface either one should work.

I think bondo is harder but more brittle than just straight fiberglass resin. I would use fiberglass since your box will flex with heavy bass and could crack bondo.

I would go with fibergalss unless you have the art of mixing Bondo and hardener down to a science and can do it perfectly each and every time. Fiberglass will stand up to the abuse alot better than bondo will too.........

bondo will crack.... that is why systems are made with fiberglass.... Fiberglass is a lot stronger than bondo
