#3465, "What are some good subs for someone on a budget?"
Alright, I wanna wake people up at night when I drive by. lol. But for real, I was thinking about 2 10s or 2 12s. I really like low bass so I wanna make sure the subs can pick up the low bass. What should i get. PLEASE make sure they arent too expensive b/c its a b-day gift and she wont pay too much. Or even if you people know a sub that I can get just 1 of and it will hit really hard. THANKS!

if you want loud deep bass you will need to go with 12in sub(s) or bigger, and of course a good amp. i have 1 12 in a nicely made ported box that can outperform 2 12in sub setups.. specs are in sig if curious.

Yeah, listen to Jason, he knows what's up. Type R is the way to go. They are $200 a piece (maybe a little more depending on your area) but most subs are $100 or more a piece and if you get two of them you're looking at over $200 bucks anyhow. So get 1 type R Alpine sub. It is a dual voice coil sub with each coil rated at 2ohm. So find an amp which will push out 500watts or higher bridged mono at 4 ohm. (Jason has a Kenwood 729s and says it rocks) Just keep your sub load at 4 ohm don't try to wire your sub to 1ohm....if you don't know the difference in series and parallel just ask me. You could get all this stuff for around $500-$600 dollars.
it really depends on the box you use. if you just want boomy sound put a couple in a bandpass box. the sound is not that clean, but its loud. if you wanna save money i would think about building your own box.
