Did you notice a significant decrease in the amount of noise your car makes as you drive?
I know this stuff prevents rattles when you turn up the bass, but I wanted to see if any of you have a super quiet ride now. Lexus quality? Somebody on this board previously said he dynamated his friends escort (in it's entirety) and that it almost sucked the noise out of the air (as I recall)
I am taking a completely different route - I am using the exact same stuff as cascadeaudio's v-blok (a loaded vinyl and decoupling foam). It reduces road noise by around 30db (yes, in theory). But this weighs a hella lot. I'll be adding like 85lbs to the car. I'm doing it this weekend (the whole car but the fire wall) I hope to get the cabin to be like a mercedes or something. Does anyone want pictures afterwards? Or a writeup? Because I have done a ton of research on sound barriers and I also mapped out the square footage of the inside of our cars.
We can compare our results (sound dampening vs sound barrier) afterwards.

K, I'm taking pics. I'm actually doing it this week because the foam came in on Monday (was supposed to be last friday). I completely stripped the car on Monday. God it is loud without any carpet, seats, panels! But I felt a definate improvement in acceleration. No way I could live with the car like this though.
Anyway, so far I've just done everything below the carpet and below the rear seats. I have a test on friday so I can't do anymore at the moment.
Advise for anyone taking out the REAR panels - be VERY careful. There are a bunch of clips that tie the panel to the body and if you don't lookout you will break the plastic for sure. Fortunately, haven't broken anything (yet)
