what kind of power do you push through your subs... if the number is high, then i would suggest it. To tell you the truth it has been recomended that having a cap is better than not having one. Right now i do not have a cap on my system and i have no problems that i know of and my system sounds very good and im pushing a pretty good amount of watts.. but i dont push a huge amount of power to my subs so i think im ok. I have been meaning to install a .5 farad cap that i was given, just havent gotten around to it.

Get a cap man, they help tremendously. I was running 2 MTX 2300X's without them and just a yellowtop, sitting at stoplights my voltage would actually plummet to "0" when the bass hit and my car would struggle. After the caps it was fine, now the caps drop from 13.8 to anywhere from 2-4 when it hits and my car can actually idle. I just took 1 amp out, so I'm doubling up on the lone amp, so they shouldn't even hesitate now. Get at least a 1 farad cap, and with a digital top if you have the extra cash.
