She's finally here with me to stay. I sold my 2 L7 15's for my new found love, the Orion HCCA 15. I can sum up my feelings in one word, BADASS!! The box had to be specially made from double walling 1/2" MDF for a total of 1" thickness. It easily outperforms solobarics anyday, it's such a shame that Orion is discontinuing them. Oh well, I'll post pics tomorrow of my massive baby in her new home.

The reason Orion is discontinuing them is because they have gone down the the corporate machine known as DEI like just abotu everyone else. I'm just hoping the specs don;t change to much on their products now that another hand is in the mix. I know what you mean about the sound from your sub though. I had 2 HCCA 12's for a while and those things will pound your skull in. I always have been an Orion guy though, they have always been the cream of the crop in my book. Nothing beats the amps either for pure power.. emoji

Yea, I've been talking to an Orion rep alot lately and he told me that they were coming out with something new to replace it. He couldn't elaborate but he said it wouldn't be as hard a hitter as the HCCA 15, but it would still pound and be more affordable. He said the affordabilty was a HCCA downfall, everyone wanted them but not everyone could afford them. Oh well, I've got mine and the new box should be done by friday.

It all comes down to you get waht you pay for, yes they were a bit pricey, but then again I don;t think there are many subs that can truly hang with the HCCA subs at any wattage. That was by far one of the best built and hardest hitting subs ever produced. I got rid of my old XTR Pro's for the HCCA when they came out and was truly scared to really get on them for fear of blowing the damn glass out of the car. When we first built my box we left it out of the car and got on it and it shook the whole damn house so hard, and that was from a detached garage.....
Anyways, you made a very wise choice. What amp are you pushing it with??

Right now I'm running a MTX 2300X on it. The 2300 is probaly my favorite amp, not the most powerful but it packs one hell of a punch and it's all raw power. The power range for it is real close to the HCCA so it matches it great.
