i was driving and my amp quit all the sudden. i checked all the connections and the fuses and no luck. so i hooked my other amp up and it works fine so something has to be wrong with the first one. i opened it up to check for a blown resistor or something like that but didnt see anything. any help would be great!

Was the amp really hot? Sounds like it went into thermal shutdown..Was the amp on for a long time, with the volume turned up? If so, thats what prob happened..Either that, or you just plain blew the amp..

no the amp wasnt hot, it was only after like 15mins of driving and ive had that thing on for hours at high volumes. if i did blow the amp is there some way i can fix it?? how can you tell if it is blown. i mean i know it wont work anymore but there has to be something i can check to tell if it is blown. isnt there a way to fix a blown amp??

there are fuses on the amp itself, check if those are blown. to tell if the amp is blown you can pretty much only try to smell it but that time has past. then check the connections with a meter..

If you fried your amp you should still be able to smell it... it emits an awful smell that usually lasts a couple of weeks. Did you see any smoke coming out of your amp or smell anything when it cut out?

Check to see if you have any warranty left on the amp then call the manufacturer... they should fix it for just the cost of shipping. Even if it is out of warranty, they should still be able to fix it, but it will cost you.
