Well, I just hooked up my facorty CD player in my friends ride. The CD player is asking for a 4 digit code. I've seen this before when I hooked up a CD in my gf saturn. Is there a standard code or are they all different. I just tried to call Satan and they are closed.

Also we thought the code might be 1234 so we entered it and now the damn thing won't come on at all. It kinda shut down. I am audio stupid so if anyone can help us out I would appreciate it. We are sitting here trying to figure it out right now. Thanks!

A trip to the dealer is what you might need unfortunately. After like 3 attemtps to enter a code, it goes into a sort of shutdown mode, and only the dealer with a special gadget can get it working again, i do believe. You might be able to call the dealer and give them the serial # off of the deck, and get the code, but this may not work if its in the shut down mode. Also some dealers won't give out that info either unless you are with a shop or something...Try it first, then go from there..Its like 70 bucks or around there for the dealer to make it work again emoji

Damn, I was afraid you would say something like that. My girlfriends Saturn was the same way. She had to take it to the dealer and get it unlocked(for lack of a better phrase) Ok, well guess thats all that can be done. Thanks for the help Xtreme.

if they charge you 70 bucks, pitch in a few more and get a better deck.

you shouldnt have to pay anything. I did the same thing to my deck when I first bought my car. All I had to do was take some proof of ownership and the serial # off of the deck. there is a way to clear that "lockdown" mode, but I forgot how. sorry. if you ask them at the dealer they should tell you. I hope this helps.

Irfan: I got a nice deck. I was just installing this deck in my friends car cause...well he's cheap and dosen't want to buy a CD player.

BornTwiztid19: Thanks, I haven't gone yet to check it out cause my buddy went out of town and the CD player is in his car. I was thinking it might be covered by warrenty....we'll see. Thanks guys.
