#2687, "my el kameleon head unit...."

sux ballz....well not really. i really like the way it works, and it sounds better than any other head unit that i have ever had. (JVC KDLX300) but i really dont like those full black easily scratched screens. the whole thing is just one big black panel that is scratched to shit. most people cant even tell, but i am told that im a perfectonist and i have problems :/ I am thinking about selling this head unit and getting something else. what do u think i should get next. i need something with separate sub outputs, and something that doesnt sound like shit. also nothing too expensive, 200-300 is good. any info would be apreciated. tia

i've got the kameleon too.. i've got some scratches but its not horrible. alpine are supposed to be good.. my vote would go for pioneer, especially if you use cd-rs.. i haven't really had any experience with the alpines, but pioneers have seemed to have the best lens and don't skip as much as all the other brands..

I've had mine since 99 or whenever they 1st came out & not 1 scratch... how R U scratching it, finger nails? The only thing that bugs me is that I (understandably) have 2 clean off the face about every 2 weeks (they smudge up EZ).

I have the same radio. If you take some plastic polish you can polish the scratch out. If it is not to deep. The polish is made by Blue coral you can find it at Wal-mart or pepboys. Hope that works for you.
