Looks nice, what do you use to controll it? And where is the actual computer mounted? Are you using a inverter?

I have mine in my trunk with an inverter running back there. Then i have right now a keyboard run under the rear seats that usually rests on the passanger seat. Its basically a music server housing 2,200 mp3's and itw wired into my stereo. I am going to buy a black silicone keyboard from work (its about 6 or 7" long and like .5" thick, i was going to mount it (possibly velcro) on my dash because it will conform to the contours and look tight.

Im just tryin to see different peoples setups to get ideas for my system. I have yet to get a screen though due to lack of funds... how much was your screen?

the computer is touchscreen, and i use a wireless keyboard to control it. that is the actual computer. its all built in to that one piece. yeah, i'm using an inverter running through the cigarette outlet, but i will wire the inverter into the electrical system soon.

>how much was your screen?
it was $100 on ebay. plus the cost of a hard drive. i bought a 20gb laptop drive.
400mhz transmeta crusoe, 92mb ram, 20gb hd, 2 usb, ethernet, modem. and a minipci slot which will evenuatlly hold my minipci wireless ethernet card.

That is so awesome I want to find out more about it - but those links are kinda strange - one is a discussion group on screens?

Okay, so in fact this screen that you bought for $100 is a whole computer in itself, except for a hard drive? Is there a spot for a labtop cd rom in it? That's sweet - can you show a picture of your mounting bracket?

When you get the GPS up, let us know what software and stuff you are using - I want to do the same thing if I can get GPS on it. Ever since I saw the road finder in my uncles acura cl I've wanted one.

I dont have a setup with the same principal as him. I'm useing a Belkin AC Anywhere inverter to power a computer that houses music in my eclipse. I bought a 300watt inverter from CompUSA (i work there so i got a discount) which has 2 outlets and a cooling fan. It plugs into my ciggerette lighter and runs alongside my driver seat to the "hump" behind the center armrest by the back seats which is where it rests. The computer plugs in there and the wire is routed under my rear seat to the trunk. I didnt do anything special to hide the inverter, it looks cool and is easily accessible if I want to plug anything in like a cell phone or anything else really.

>one is a discussion group on
>screens?

ya, its a board that they talk about the GCTP on.

i'll take pics of the mounting bracket.... i had to kinda manufacture it myself. by that i mean i just took some metal and bent it, drilled some holes, and got it to fit mounted on the glove box little metal latch thing.

as for the inverter, i use the same setup as Blk95Talon. just an inverter that plugs into my cigarette lighter. eventually, i'm going to wire the inverter into the electrical system and hide it somewhere.
