is code alarm any good? that is what the shop in town is selling and i'm thinking about getting the 7600 series. its got remote start and 4 aux ouputs. which is what i'm looking for

Well i'll prob have a biased answer for you since i install DEI products, but i have had MANY people come in my shop and complain about the Code Alarm product. Back at an old shop i used to work for, we had picked up the Code line, and just hooking up a simple keyless entry with a trunk release kept frying the moudle. The trunk release output on the module would blow when turning on the relay. Very crappy IMO. Hooked up the DEI one, and worked great. It wasn't a wireing fault either. But, Code may have come a long way since then, but i still hear complaints about them. Also, a product is only as good as the installation, so if a terrible installer hooked up the Code alarm product, then its really not a faulty product, but faulty installation. Its all in the install. I will recomend any DEI product to you, but if you want to go with Code alarm, and you can get a good deal on it, i'd say go for it.
