I'm going to use vinyl on the false floor & enclosure in the hatch area. Anyone have experience with this? It has a cotton-like backing to it. I'm thinking rubber cement and/or 3M spray adhesive. Any suggestions?

they make glue for vinyl, i think 3m does. im curious tho, what all are you gonna cover? just where the carpet was? got methinkin, putting vinyl over the plastic back there too would look great. let us know how it comes out.

It's color matched to the back of the seat. btw- I have beige interior. I'm going to cover the main enclosure and the false floor. I'll most likely do the back of the rear seats, too. I was thinking of doing the hatch panels, but that seems like a big pain in the ass.

For anyone who's interested, I just ordered three 32"x54" rolls of asphalt-based generic dampening material from mcmaster.com. It was about $40 shipped. That cost a little more than 1 roll of Dynamat Extreme. Actually, I used a 24"x32" roll of Dynamat extreme and it costs $30 at Best Buy! I'll let ya know how this shit works out...

I used Sta-put. You can get it at most lumber yards. It's in a green and white can. You have to cut your pieces first and work pretty quick cuz this stuff sets pretty fast and then it's a bitch to remove.

Vinyl is very unforgiving...just make sure you take your time laying it down....just about any heavy duty adhesive will hold it in place...

It's cloth-backed vinyl. I went to Lowes and bought Contect Cement. You apply to both sides, wait 15 minutes, and stick 'em together... INSTANT BOND! This shit worked well! It's taking me hours to lay the vinyl to get it just right.
