ok, so if you look around the eclipse claims to have an 8 speaker stereo system. 2 in back, 2 tiny ones way up in dash, 2 in door, and 2 lower part of dash. right? wrong! i was taking my dash apart to paint it and the lower dash speakers are empty. i have a 97 gst that came with the premium sound. is this normal? not a big deal since i wanna add better speakers anyway.. just wondering who ripped me off, mitsu or the previous owner.

hmm, revenge could be tricky.. go after a large car manufacturer or my brothers ex girlfriend.... ??

As far as i know, there are only 6. I could be wrong, but to me it would be pointless to have speakers in the doors and speakers in the lower dash...

None of the our cars have speakers behind those lower dash grills. I'm really not sure why the hell they have a grill there other than it does look better than a flat panel. You can put some 4" mids in there if you want to.

the galants with the premium Infinity sound system crap have 4" speakers in the lower dash with the other speakers.

yeah.. never heard of our cars coming with 8 speakers. The 2000 models do come with a extra sub in the middle of the back seats though. But six are all that I have been able to find so far in our cars.

Actually, I know the GSX do come with 8 speakers. 2 on the top of the dash, 2 on the door, 2 in the rear, and 2 at the bottom of the dash (below the light dimmer, and next to the glove compartment). The size of the speaker is 4T. A company by the name of crutchfield use to sell these, I don't think they do anymore. I'm not too sure about the GS-T. I can't recall if they came with 6 or 8.

I was just looking at my 1999 Eclipse brochure an it says the Infinity system comes with 8 speakers
