Best Buy is selling 2 Pioneer IMPP 12" 450watt subs for $99. That had them on display in a inclosed ported box. Man that shit bangs in there, but I dont kno what kind nof amp was pushin it. So is that a good deal? What kind of amp would I need to push these two subs?

Are they selling the subs with that box or not? 100 bucks for one of those pioneers is ok, but not a great deal or anything. For 200 bucks, if it comes with the box, i'd say go for it. For an amp, find out what the RMS power rating on the subs are, and then match that rating with an amp who's RMS output rating is the same or close..

If so, Id say go for it. They are not the "best" of subs, Pioneer is best known for head units, but that is a good price for 12's and you will DEFINITELY notice a difference in your soundsystem.

it's a good deal, but i mean... remember. u get what u pay for. those impps are okay... most likely, best buys runs them with rockford fosgate either 600a2 or 800a2, i know that whenever they display anything they usually run it off a rockford. i'm not 100% sure, but i'm like 70% sure, unless some1 from best buys wants to prove me wrong right now...

but yeah... my friend ran impps, and he recnetly got so sick of them he just went with JL W3. so i mean... might as well spend some money right now, so you won't have to buy more shit later

hey,.. i saw what you are talking about about 2 weeks ago when I was going to do a little research on head units.. Believe it or not.. best buy, circuit city, and the wiz are good places to see stereo component at work. Anyways.. back to the topic.. I dont think that they were selling 2 12" subs and the box. If I remembered correctly.. they were asking 99$ for each sub and that doesn't include the box. Just ask the sales person there to make sure. Cause I saw this SONY X-plode sub there for like 79$ and it was a 2 12" plexi-enclosed box. (for 79$?!?!) so I asked and they said that was just for one speaker.. Just ask to make sure and if it is 99$ for 2 subs and a box, get it.. you cant get a better deal than that. Although IMO 15" JL's are much much better.

I had two of the older Pioneer IMPP Subs (the first ones that came out) and they kicked ass for about 5 years. I never over powered them and the sensitivity was 92dB so it didn't take much to power them. I sold sold the subs a couple of months ago for $150 in the box. Back then I paid a friend $100 with the box. I used them for 5 years and made $50! HA! I say go for it if you're on a budget. If you're going for quality save your money and go down to HiFi Buys on Nolenville Rd. Talk them down on the prices... tell them you only have X amount to spend and they'll hook you up with some JL's.

i think it may have been circuit city or best buy, i forget, but they were sellin two 900watt sony xplode 12's for $100. i think they were 300watt RMS. i know that crutchfield has them. they also sell two 1200watt(400RMS) for $140. a buddy of mine has these and they sound pretty damn good. i am thinking of picking myself up a pair to replace my MTX. just wanted to let ya know. peace

if you can...get the warranty through Best Buy. that's a sweet warranty for 20 bucks, anything you do to em they'll replace for free. last friday i got a cheap replacement sub, ran twice the power it should have to it, burned it up on sunday and took it back to trade in for a higher power speaker, no questions asked.

It's all about nwhat you can afford. If you like the sound of the Pioneers and the price is in your budget then go for it if you HAVE to have something right now. As far as everyone telling to get JL's yes there is much better out there but at the same time JL aren't bad at all. The new W7's are SWEET!!. Myself I stick with Orion because they have proven themselves over the test of time to lay down nasty levels of bass. But like I said, it's about what you want, what you can afford, and how impatient you are........
