Ok, I have a RF 1 farad cap. I put the + to batt and - to amp, and nothing. The voltagae between the cap is 11.78v and between the cap and amp is 0. Help me out

That is not how a cap works. You have to run a line from your battery to the + on the cap. Then from that same connector run a + to the amp. Ground the - on the cap to the same place that you grounded the amp. (otherwise you could get noise) Run the remote turn on from the deck, power it up, and BAM, cap is installed. (This is assuming that you have charged the cap up.)

well.. if that how you wired it up,.. thats wrong. the cap goes before the amp. you have to run a pos line to the cap, and then from the cap to the amp. and the ground on the cap shouldn't be going to the amp. it should be going to where you grounded your amp. its not really that hard to setup. if you have a multi amp system.. just take the line from the distributor block and run that to the cap then back into the block. I'll try and take some pictures of how I have everything wired.. that should make things easier for you to see. If you would like more info. you can reach me at jasonhko@hotmail.com

if you have a multiamp setup with two distrubution blocks one for power and one for ground could the cap be put on only one amp, or is it better tha way.. like i to put the current positive 8ga line going to my sub amp + terminal and run it to the cap then run another 8ga from the + of the cap to the + of the amp, then run the - to the ground distrubution block. and will a .5farad cap do any good on a system like mine for at least the sub amp. components are listed in my sig below for reference. thanks.. for the longest time i have had a .5 cap and been wanting to hook it up but could find little info on how to hook one up till now.. oh and for some reason recently after putting a better ground on my amps where as i put a 4ga line to a rear seatbelt bolt and ran it to a distro block and then ran the two 8ga grounds to the amps i had more or less fixed my alt noise problem and thus turned up my high's amp a little, and for some reason the sound/noise has returned, and im not sure what else i should do.. any suggestions on that would be appriciated. sorry this was so long

Everything you stated is correct. You can put the cap before your dist. block for all your amps, or you can just put it before your sub amp.

Check your grounds. Make sure the terminal has a very good contact with BARE METAL. Scape and paint away. Also, try different ground places. Also, be sure that your RCA signal cables are not run along with any power cables. They should be run down the opposite side of the car. The RCAs will pick up noise.
