#2163, "good price for system?"

i took my car to this guy and he said he could build me a custom box that would "blend in" with my trunk and 2 10" woofers and an amp for somewhere around 450 to 500 dollars is this worth it because i don't really know about the prices of all that stuff. they would be good woofers and amps to like audiobahn or rockford fosgate. thanks

1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX: K&N Filter, John Sheppard built transmission with GVR4 1st gear, autometer boost gauge, "free mods", Greddy type-s BOV, broken shifter

is that for the box only????

depends on the quality of the box. he will probably spend less than $100 in the materials. if hes gonna build you a standard square box with carpet over it, i would say no way. But if he has a good design and can show you a finished product maybe, but still not for $500. if hes including the speakers thats not bad. also, most people that have speakers pointing up say the bass is not that good outside so keep that in mind. what im thinking of doing is taking my existing premade box, 2 10s that faced eachother pointing toward the back of the car, and removing the top part of the box and then building a wodden cover that fits on top but covers the entire trunk space, but the center will be plexiglass letting you see down into the box. the rest would be carpeted. ive seen other cars like this and they dont lose any of the accustics like some people do with speakers facing up.
