When i get my eclipse this month, if it comes whit the infinity system, will i have to do anything special even if i dissconect the stock amp? I mean when i am connecting the new headunit with the wiring harness, will anything be diffrent? also, is there any way i can use the stock changer with an aftermarket headunit that controlls cd changers?

do you mean using the stock amp with a new head unit??? that would be tricky because there is an infinity cable that connects the 2 together, supplying power and all the inputs. as far as i know there is no adapter for that. im using the stock system because i think it sounds pretty nice. what i did was jack into the input wire going into that amp, and wired that to another amp which powers my sub. it sounds nice and works til i decide to upgrade everything.

I made a crazy mess of mine. emoji I just pulled out the amp and hacked the harness. Ran everything under the carpet all the way from the amps and spliced into stock speaker wiring. I was too lazy to run new wiring to the dash and doors. I'll get around to it sooner or later.

no, i mean taking the stock amp out. Also, how much room do gs-t convertables have for a system with 2 12"s? are they bad for bass?

i dont know if the trunk space is different, but on my GST non-convertable i have a box with 2 10s that face eachother. the box pretty much takes the whole truunk, i have room for a suit case but thats about it. I can open all doors and the hatch back and the base still sounds good, so I think it will work for you. But you might want to get or build a custom box that turns the entire trunk into a speaker box. youll get better base response with the top down.
