wheres the best places to put this stuff. I just put some speakers in and it rattles like a bish. I don't want to spend alot so what are the main areas that I need to cover?

Best bet without going through and doing a thorough check is to focus on large areas and places that rattle right from the start.... You don't need to cover the entire car unless you want the whole totally quiet concept with added weight. Main places to focus on IMO would be the hatch under the rear wing, the doors and maybe back by the rear speakers. Otherwise I haven't really noticed anywhere else that seem to rattle excessively.........

yeah i agree. I have a 15, and don't really hear too much rattleing, but try to isolate where its coming from, and then go from there. The hatch area is prob the most noisy, but panels anywhere will make noise also. You dont even have to use dynomat or anyting too. Find the rattle, and stick something behind it that will not deteriorate or shift around, and that should solve the problem..

Not sure what kind of setup you have on your system, but if your running some kind of crossover then it should help you out even more. You can pick up a test disc from just about any reputable stereo shop for abour 30 bucks. If you get one make sure it has the various frequency tests. That way you can isolate your rattles at different frequencies. Most of them should be somewhere in the 70-110 hz range........ Once you find them then you can apply the right kind of sound deadening to get rid of the rattles......GOOD LUCK!!!!!

After i got my new pioneer speakers(160 watt peak), i noticed my mirrors shaking and heard odd ratling from the back. i had no money for dynomat, so i cheeped out and took a old pair of sweatpants and hacked them up. i cut the legs and put the opening around the magnet of the speaker and jammed the rest in the speaker enclosure. i then threw the speaker in and put on my panel...

it may be cheep and ghetto...but my mirrors are significantly more stable, there is very little rattling, it adds less weight than dynomat, and was free =)

You changed the tuning of your enclosure by doing that which changed the freq that your subs are rolling off at which would change the different vibrations in your car.....

I got 2 RF punch power dvc 15's and a Phoenix Gold XS 2500 500 watt amp. It rattles quite a bit. The back bumper and around the license plate and the hatch seem to be my biggest problems

Dynamat isn't a miracle cure by any means, but it will help out alot with the hatch rattling. If you have the cash and have a VERY Reputable stereo shop around they can do it for you for a healthy fee.
