thats awesome, its just what i need for all my music. i showed it to my friend and we are building started buiding a similar setup for my car, with a little input and modification from each of us...
if i can make this work i will be pretty excited. i think the hardest part will be getting power back there from the battery. the inverter will be easy but i got to get a live wire to it first...

This is what I did, jack up your car and look on the inside of the frame on the pass. side. You'll see little clips fro your brake lines. Notice how one of them is empty. 8ga power wire fits in there perfectly. A few zip ties here and there and you're all set. Then you can run it up through to the trunk area by taking out one of those white plastic things. Took me about 20 min. to run power for my amps.

uh.. just a question.. how much did you spend for the whole setup??? cause I just saw 2 head units, one from Sony and the other from Kenwood that both have MP3 players built into them and they only cost about 250-300 bucks.. and the good thing about these units is that they fit into the stock install bays.

Yes..cheap. But the bad thing is, those head units are a pain in the ass to find a song you are looking for. Try scrolling through 1400 + songs....then tell me which setup you think it better.

Hey everyone, i got my pc based system in. although not 100% complete yet, it is working 100%. the whole system (after i buy the remaining parts) will top out at a max of about 140.00 for now, im using a cassette adapter running out of the line out on the back of the computer. not the best sounding(but still good) but it will work fine untill i decide to hook it up to the back of my reciever. the only reason i havnt hooked it up completely yet, is that i am having difficulty locating a lcd screen. i want to install the screen and the inout all at once. currently the computer has over 500 songs on it, and that takes up 1/20th of my storage space. to controll it i have 2 methods. a custom keyboard and a pc microphone...thats right...my system is voice activated. i say "computer, play" and it plays, or "switch to, xxxxx" and it switches to that song. it is definatly cooler and a lot cheeper than buying a mp3 reciever for your car. this holds 20,000 minutes of digital,skip free, voice controlled music. ill make a new post when i need help with the wireing.

um, I went to dayton tuner bash and saw all the new junk, sony pioneer, and sum1 else had 1. they have a 10g hard drive, have memory sticks and it just like a computer. there pretty slick
