i have a stock cassette deck witht the stock cd player just above it. what's the easist way to pull it out. the plastic piece around it seems to stretch all the way to the shifter, i just need to pull out the radio far enough to get the serial number.

Sorry to say, but you will have to remove the center console to get at the radio. The radio is mounted on a metal bracket that has 4 screws in it, but only accessable by removing/sliding back the center console. Its really very easy, just some screws and taking off the shifter nob..
