#1771, "Who's tired of CDs?"

I hate CDs. They're hard to handle cause they're round. They scrach way to easily. My burned ones just get old and stop working. THEY SKIP, even with just loud bass on my stock HU. I'm working on puting an old computer in my car and using all mp3's with a keypad controler.

With mp3's, minidisks, and satalite radio, I'm ready to move on from CDs. They're getting outdated. Sure they're digital but they aren't conveniut.

I like the hit clips idea. They're for kids, with only one song at FM quaitly and mono, but I would like whole albums at normal quility.

IMO, you can't beat the cd-r full of mp3's. Over 80+ songs on one cd, you can't go wrong. If you don't like cd's, minidisc is the way to go, but very hard to find titles commercialy. If you make you own, then its all good...

hehe.. seems im not alone.. emoji i had thought about doing this myself not too long ago, but funds just didnt quite alow me to further pursue it.. be sure to check out www.mp3car.com for more info on doing this. its really not all that hard to rig up a computer in the car and use it for mp3's or whats not.. but yeah my thing is that i dont like the current mp3 cd players.. i dont want to have to bother burning mp3s to cd before i can play them and the interface is not up to par just yet on those players.. i would rather like to have my whole collection up for grabs all 2k+ of them emoji perhaps one day i will finish it up.. i already rigged up a way to input the audio from a computer into my system. if you are further interested, you can hit me up on aim and we can share ideas..

good luck.

This came in last week, and we were all blown away after I got it hooked up and loaded some MP3's on it. To say it's amazing is an understatement, and I'm NOT normally a Kenwood fan. The customers I've demo'd it to have loved it as well.

It'll probably be the only non-Alpine audio piece in my car, but it's well worth it if you have a lot of digital music. I say probably because I'm guessing as to the function of the RCA outputs on it. If they allow it to be plugged in to a non-Kenwood deck, I'll be on that like white on rice emoji If not, it's still f***ing nice for those who have Kenwood decks.

-Matt

p.s. the MSRP of $900 is way off... we have it for $750, and online is typically cheaper than retail

I have a Rockford Fosgate MP3 player in my ride. I can fit like 150-175 songs on a CD. I only put that many songs on a CD every blue moon though, cuz I get tired of flipping through all those songs to get to a particular one.

I'm pretty sure Rockford still makes their MP3 changer also, think it has like 3 removable drives that you can load and use. If your skipping your CD's with your stock system though you have some major issues, I have a ton of bottom end in my car and it doesn't bat an eye at just about any volume, might wanna try cleaning your disks or get a better head unit.

the only positive advancement in car audio would be in-car DVD Audio players and mainstream production of commercial DVD audio discs. saying 80+ MP3 CDS is good is ridiculous...mp3 is a stripped down version of a song...pretty much the exact opposite of the current advances in DVD audio...you lose sound elements rather than gain them. instead of hearing stuff youve never heard like you do with DVD-A, you dont hear stuff you used to. no thanks
