i want to replace my factory speakers with better ones but i dont know the sizes i need in order for them to fit.i have a eclipse 97 nt auto rs,if u know the factory size for the front and rear please email johnsn10@aol.com asap

Here goes if I remember correctly....fronts are 5 1/4 and the rear are 6 1/2. If you have some time and a dremel you can carve out the rear mounting pods and slide in some 6x9's which is what I did. While you have the door panels off you might want to go through and tighten things up too. Our cars are notorius for door rattles which only get worse when you drop some heavy bass in the ride. I actually seperated my door skin away from the support beam in the door due to high SPL's. Good luck!!!!!

how do i get the side door panels off? i tried before andthey dont seem to easy to get them off and what i did get off was hard to put back on.is there an easy way to get them off?how do i do it?

getting them off is pretty easy: unscrew 2 screws toward the front of the door, 2 towards the back. There is another one underneath the inner door handle and another one in the hand recession. Once you have the screws off (a total of 6) maneuver the piece behind the door handle out. it slides either forward or backward a little and then pops out. Next get a big flathead screwdriver and insert it between the panel and the door. Work the panel off...it is held on by plastic fasteners that can kinda be a bitch. Thats the easy part. The hard part is getting the dayum thing back on...after a lot of trial and error (and busted pieces) i found one way to do it right.

1) fully insert the lower rear corner red fastener into the door, not the panel. (make sure you have all the fasteners in the panel except that one)

2) hook the panel onto the fastener...youll have to hold it there with one hand while you...

3) screw the panel onto the door using the lower rear screw

4) work all the lower fasteners into place by pressing them in

5) screw in the front area and work the rest of the fasteners in

the first step is the most important...it lines everything up and attaches the door to the panel so you dont have to try and hold it there. the rest is pretty straightforward...just work in reverse.
