I've been trolling for awhile now and trying to burden the boards as little as possible by employing searches everywhere I can but I still have some unanswered ones. Here goes:

I have the infinity sound system in my 97 GS. The disc changer died about a year ago and I wasn't about to pay the 500 bones Satan demanded for another but I can't seem to find a stock one to replace it either. What else works there?

I'm really tempted (if I can't get a stock 10 disc for the infinity) to start from scratch (new HU, amps, speakers, real sub, etc). I think I can handle the brand aspect (plenty of recommendations to go around) but what about wiring? Is the stock wiring pretty decent or do I have to rip it all out too?

I'm thinking about using q forms if I get new speakers. Anybody have experience with them and manual gear boxes (do they get in the way of the dead pedal, etc) Also, if I use a q form in the floor well, do I just leave the tweeters holes empty in the dash? and the speaker cages in the back seat too?

Has anyone had success mounting amps other than the stock infinity under a seat? I'd rather not have an amp bolted to the back of seat or in my cargo area (this is my everyday driver after all).

If I get a new disc changer, what about sticking it under a front seat? Much easier to get to than the damned trunk!

As far as subs, I'd really like something out of the way. Has anybody tried under the back seats? I haven't bothered trying to take my seats out yet so I don't even know if that's feasible.

seen them used on eBay for a lot less, some brands of aftermarket will work with a certain adapter, talk to sounddomain or crutchfield

depends on the power you're pushing

they do get in the way of the dead pedal, you can leave the stock tweeters in the dash, you'll be running new wire anyway

its possible if you eliminate the back seat, jl audio makes a box that takes virtually no trunk space, or you can have someone else make it

You do NOT have to rip out the factory wiring and start over. It never hurts to do so(when done correctly), but by no means is it necessary.

I'm not a huge fan of that idea. With a seat right above the amp, I'd think the amp would have a tendancy to overheat, since there's nowhere for the heat to really go. It can work, and we've done it, but it's not real high on my list of "good ideas". I've heard lots of different opinions on whether it's a good idea or not, I just happen to be on the "not" side.

Off the top of my head, I'm not sure there'd be room, unless you get a VERY small changer(like an Alpine 6-disc, or Sony 6-disc).

I don't see how it would be possible at all. The rear seat is a cushion resting on metal. There's NO room underneat it, especially not for something as large as a sub and a properly-sized enclosure.

what about a cd chager in the dash or in the glove compartment.... those are some alternate options for ya...
