#1346, "radio reception fuzzy..."

my old amp died on me and i replaced it with a memphis st250d. When i put it in, my radio reception suffered. I have it mounted on the back of the back seat on the drivers side. Would moving it to the passenger side seat have any effect on reception considering the antenna is on the drivers side?? thanks for your help...
