How easy or hard would it be to install a car alarm with remote start myself? I was planning on getting an alarm wiring harness through Crutchfield, so that I would not have to splice any of the factory wires in my car. I have experience installing car stereos and speakers, however I would think that installing an alarm must be more complex. I just want to see what you guys think. Should I give it a go, or let a pro do the work?

Let a pro do it. I can and have been installing stereos, phones ect since highschool (1989) but the one thing I always take it in for is the alarm. Most of it is the same as any stereo install but in general pros do better conceling wires, better conections and a cleaner job ect. Of course a bad shop can do a bad job also. If something goes wrong you can always go back.

you prolly do it yself if you have the right tools and a lot of time. remember that install is more important than product when it comes to alarms though and make sure you go to a good shop. my install took crappy pro's like 10 hours for a half=assed job.

Did you have any trouble with the remote starter. Some guy put one on my 92 Talon and it won't work. Any suggestions?
