Any body know the gauge of the stock speaker wire? Also, how can I tell which is negative or positive? Thanx!

Its either 18 or 20 guage. As for seeing which one is pos. or neg., you can either go to the back of the headunit and the wires will be labeled right front + or right front -. Same goes for left and back. Or an easier way is to look on the back of the speaker you are taking out. Where the wire connects to the speaker, there will be a label telling you which terminal is positive. (red is pos. Black is neg. in most cases.

Pathetically small, rewire with some good monster 16ga or bigger!

Edit: the rears are cake to rewire, just get all the paneling out of the way, the doors are another story, feeding the wire through that boot is a total PITA

Indeed, for the doors what i did was take out the plastic holder that the wiring harness plugs and cut the wiring harness since all it did was feed the wires to the speaker.(If you have power windows or locks, don't do this) and then pulled the rubber hose out of the door so i could scrunch it up, grab the wire and pull down. Did this 15 or so times and wire was through. Then i just stuck the hose back into the door.
