Ok so I finally reinstalled my system into my car. Only I have a different head unit now than I did before. I am running 2 audiobahn 15"s, a JBL 1200.1, Older JVC kameleon deck, 1 ga power and ground, Optima yellow top and a digital fuse holder. My problem is when the bass hits...it hits hard! so hard it makes the CD skip. has anybody had this problem before? what could i do to fix it??
Here are the pics, you cant see the subs but they're facing the rear bumper.

Get a better deck. JVC is OK. I have the AVX1 in my neon, I got it because MP3 DVD's are great!! I would go with a high end Kenwood!! I have the x990 in my eclipse and I haven't had it skip yet!!

put some foam around the deck? :. Or lower the cut off frequency to the subs. by the way I just had my subs hooked up with that same amp using a jvc arsenal series touchscreen hu and three 10" mtx's, and damn does it sound amazing. No cd skippage tho.

edit: 1200 watts to w ab 15"s will prolly make most decks skip ;P fiddle with it tho.

I thought about foam too, or maybe some dynamat. I know I'm not the first person to have this problem. Oh BTW I had the same setup in my old Explorer and hit 143.8 It bangs.

nice set-up. i have 2 PG 12's and a 400 watt PG amp in mine. boxes that big are a pain to get in and out. you should have your set-up tested. i hit 142.5 with mine. as far as your deck skipping all i could say is just like the others, new higher quality deck or soft support around it to absorb some of the shock from the bass.

you hit 142.5 with a 400 watt amp? It took me 1200 watts and 2 15"s to hit 143.8.

Make sure the HU is screwed down tightly if it is i've herd ppl using the little foam pieces the put in packages to go around the HU. Idk why but with my 146.6db system i havn't had any skips from bass. Probably will with the new 150+ system.
