My battery in my remote is obviously good, i replaced it lately and when i press the disarm button it flashes green like it should, but the problem is that when i disarm the car, the alarm doesnt deactivate. The red light still flashes and I keep pressing and pressing the remote, first alarm I've really ever had, have had it for like 3 years, do I need a new remote or maybe a whole new alarm? I have some type of Python alarm, any advice guys? I may have to unhook the whole alarm so I can start the damn thing LOL

does it do anything when you hit the lock/arm button?

Almost sounds like your alarm brain doesn't recognize the remote. Could have jumped a code or is not insync with the code the alarm brain is expecting. If you have the manual for that alarm, try to find the section about programing a new remote to the system and follow the steps.

As far as starting the car, you should be able to over-ride the alarm. There should be a little push button that is connected to the alarm somewhere inside your car. Usually the installer will put it in the lower dash area, somewhat out of obvious sight.

I believe the process is hold the button down and turn the ignition to on while the button is still depressed. Then let the button go and roll ignition to off. Then you should be able to start as normal on the next roll of the ignition. I could be wrong, I've been out of the alarm installer scene for some time. Matt might have better info if he catches this thread.

If worse comes to worse, try calling Directed Electronics Inc. Python is one of their brands just like Viper.

thanks for the help guys, i think it could be the alarm brain not working right, the battery in the button is good and it lights up green everytime i push it, it has been doing this for awhile now, but after a few times pressing the button it works, what could i do to get the brain/button insync together? i do not have the install manual for the alarm, anyway i could get it online anywhere?? i have moved since i got the alarm and lost the box and everything, i thought of maybe just buying a new alarm, and then i could just do a plug and play type thing with the brains, they should all plug up the same way right? that way install would be simple lol
