I currently have 2 older fosgate punch 10s running off a fosgate 1200w amp in the trunk of my 95 eclipse. The box I have for these is huge however and the sound is a little more distored rather than a clean hit like I would like. Im looking around for something new and hoping to get soething that doesnt take up my whole trunk but sounds clean. Im not rich either so keep that in mind. Any suggestions comments would be appreciated. - Jack -Oh also in regards to in-dash moniters what brands/ models are good?

what power wire are u using on the amp? how did u wire the sub? how big is the box? is it sealed or ported? how much power are you supplying to it? where is your gain set to? what headunit are you using? what are the settings on the headunit?

I just wish my car was as fast as it was loud. people tell me i should use my sub to push it, it might go faster.

If you want clean sound you can look into any kind of sub really in 10s and a sealed box. Sealed will give alot of clarity back to you. I prefered my 2 10" Type R's becuase I listened to all kinds of music and not just booming loud music. My next setup is going to be a single 12" Eclipse Aluminum sub. It should be enough for me and I agree on the whole trunk factor. Sometimes I want my trunk and other times I say if I wanted trunk space I would have bought an SUV. Anyway thats what I recommend as far as subs go. And remember buy a decent headunit that can control and tweak your components well. I have always used pioneer and my latest model I have of theirs is excellent with hpf and all sorts of goodies.

you punched a hole in one so you arent using it; its just sitting there in the box as a passive radiator? (assuming its a common volume box) no wonder it sounds like poopy shit. as far as i remember, the old punch subs used a foam surround and a paper cone, so its possible to patch the tear using a combination of toilet paper and fingernail polish (the clear kind). build up 3-4 layers and that should last for a little while.

your system sucks because you are effectivly running the one powered sub in the worst possible way. get that other sub patched up or move the one good sub into a box thats appropriate for it.

Lol ya agree on the poopy shit thing, its 8 gauge wire, running off a 1200watt fosgate amp and an old sony headunit and its sealed box.

also the only 1200 watt amps that rockford made were crap, all of rockfords new stuff after the early 90s is crap so might have to look fo an old punck amp, better quality, dont need 1200 watts, i have a punch 200 and my system hits hard.
