have a 97 eclipse and the infinity radio gets horrible reception (i've checked antenna connections). It seems a common problem.
I am looking for just a basic radio, nothing special, but in checking around..it seems that there is no deck out there that will work with the mitsubishi cd changer???!!!
Anyone find radios that WILL control the changer or do I just have to write it off?

Surprised nobody replied to you yet. You'll have to write it off. No aftermarket radio will control the stock cd changer.

Yeah they make kits to control aftermarket changers with stock head units, but not the other way around.
You'll also have to lose your Infinity amp under your pass seat and most likely will want to replace those shitty speakers too. Inf. stuff really sucks, I don't know why automobile makers prize them so highly.

I agree with aaron, even their aftermarket stuff is shit. The subs are pretty decent, but speakers suck major. My buddy had brand new reference series and they blew out on the stock headunit. Anyway off topic, but yea they do have aftermarket cd changers that work with stock headunits, even fm modulated ones but thats a sloppy install imo.

I seriously don't know why people bash infinity so much. I have had infinity kappa's in my car for the longest time and they sound great. I've beaten the crap out of them and they have held up. How you buddy blew them on a stock deck, I'd like to know. My guess is he had the bass cranked way more then it should have been and the constant over-extension of the speaker caused its doom.

No, my buddy is an audio freak.. he knows his shit.. He had the fronts set at 160hz since they were like 4 1/2". He had the stock deck but had an equalizer. Anyway.. I dont know it happened twice to him. The subs sound great, but the speakers were shit.
