#10736, "help with custom trunk layout"

im re doing my stereo in the spring and need to clean up the trunk.
so hers what i need to fit
2 alpine 10's
2 alpine t-757 amps
1 alpine 304 amp
1 phoenix gold powercore
a battery and a cd changer
i would love to glass the trunk and make this all fit but i suck at glassing.
if anybody has some ideas or would be willing to build somthing that would be helpful!
i can get measurements of anything if needed.

Where are you located? I can make you something but I will not get to it until the second week of May when I get home. If you ship your stuff to me I can make it and then ship it back. Or, even better, if you are close enough to Allentown, PA then you could save on shipping.

may is fine, it will probably take me that long to decide on a layout! lol
im located in Omaha Ne, so im close to nobody!
however, my roomate is from allentown so i might be able to set up a road trip to pa. maybe do a little meet and hang with the "right coast" boys.
i have some ideas but cant make them a reality. i'll see if i can come up with a layout diagram!

if anyone has sugestions feel free to pipe up!

you need to start out with a good base first lol,

The prep for when my real system goes in, I will try to cling more to the sides though (carbon fibered) So the bottom is still visible and useable. Pics are how it is now and without my big ugly box covering everything.Center is hinged and holds my amp

Thanks for the great pics guys!
i could care less about using my trunk space for anything besides this set up. my tools usually ride shotgun anyway!!

mike- what size subs you running? cuz it looks awefully cramped already.

should i just plan on losing the back seats, and have the 3 amps in kinda a stacked angle? / / / from the back to the front with the two subs angled in from the very back with the powercore in a triangle with the subs?

i still need to keep my strut tower brace in the rear.

hmmm choices
maybe when i rip the old stuff out i can place this stuff better.

did most of you guys use a wooden frame and then glass it so its molded to the sides?

i use 12" subs. my setup is amazing, wait until you see when its done!
yes, make a base out of MDF board, then wrap it in fleece, appy like 2-3 coats of resin, then lay some chapmatt over that and do like 2-3 layers of resin and like 2 layers of chopmat, cut all your edges and shit off, spray some gel coat over it, wet sand it and your good to go. a little pricey to do things like this, but they look amazing when they are done if done correctly! emoji

actually its lighter. the side panels i made are just molds, and they are lighter than the actual stock panel. like 1/2 the weight actually. i use no bondo or anything so it cuts down on the weight. thats my old trunk setup and those are just molds i made too, no wood or anything. so actually, not much weight added at all emoji i thought of this in advance!

When you have a fast car like Mike's, weight doesn't matter. You'll probably never find Mike at the track so he could probably care less what it weighs. Mike's car has it going on under the hood and inside...Good job Mike!

lol thanks. but actually, you will find me at the track alot. BUT everything instead of being 'popped' into place like factory panels, my molds just 'bolt' in with an allen head, so removal takes all about 10 minutes for everything. so when i hit up the track like 2-3 times a month, just take that extra 10 minutes before i head up to the track and badda bing, no more weight emoji
