#10730, "6 vs. 8 speaker systems"

I have the factory 6 speaker system (not so factory anymore of course). (tweeters in dash, door and rear panel speakers).

where would the other 2 go for the 8 speaker setup?

I just got some small MTX speakers out of another car (did a stereo instal and speaker upgrade and just kept them... good thing too, didn't get paid)

thanks a lot!

I believe they would go on the bottom of the dash. one right beside the steering wheel and the other right beside the glove box

thankyou sir, that's what I thought.

another question.. do you think that the wires would already be in place? or would I have to put them there.

OOH OOH!!! do they happen to be 4" speakers?

THey are 4" holes but on the drivers side there's about .5" mounting depth. They didn't use those holes because they ended up with too much shit behind them on the driver's side.

And take your tweeters out of the dash and mount them in your doors between the door handle and the air vent. In the dash is the worst place to have them in our cars.

Guess I didn't answer ALL of your questions. No, there are no wires there. And I hope you're not thinking about running 8 speakers off your head unit cuz that's fry city right there for your head unit.

Most "8 speaker systems" involve a mid/tweet combo up front, pair of 6x9's in the rear, and a couple of small crappy subs

alright, thanks... looks as if I'm going to be selling those then

don't need the tweeters moved though. the speakers I purchased years ago put out more than enough treble. Kenwood 2 ways with the tweeter seperate.
