Do you guys think a 10" can be used as a full range or should I not go any bigger than a 8"?

If you try to use a 10 as a full range it will sound like crap. It'll prob even give you this hissing or strange noise (can't describe the noise exactly in words, but u get the point)

I have 8's in my doors for mids... i would recommend 8" vs 10", less distortion IMO

that really depends on the characteristics of the woofer, if your using a woofer that is meant to be used as a subwoofer then it probably won't sound very good because the frequency response tends to roll off pretty quickly. there are, however alot of high quality 8" midbass woofers that can be "shoehorned" into our doors and will provide a real nice midbass kick.
check out these people:

they have alot to offer

Even 8's shouldn't be used as full range. You should use some kind of bandpass crossover.

He's right, even an 8" SUBWOOFER should not be used as a full range speaker. Honestly i don't know how you would be able to understand anything over all the distortion it would put out. However, like the guy said above, they make 8" midbass which works well.

1" Tweeter 3" Mid-High 5.25" Mid-Range 6.5" Mid-Bass 8" Mid-Sub and 12" subs. With a pair of good 6.5" components for rear fill.

You can run that setup off a high wattage 2 channel amp because Kicker makes individual crossovers that can be daisy chained off 1 channel of your amp and run all those speakers like one huge component set-up. Well, minus the subs and the rear fill.

do you know how difficult it would be to build a crossover that would make that set-up sound even remotely coherrant?

keep it simple and it will sound better and be much easier.

go if you don't want to ty and cram an 8" in, then go with 6.5" components, put the tweeters in the upper dash location and the woofers in the doors, it works well.

I think a great arrangement for our cars is an 8" mid woofer in the door, 4" mid in the bottom of the dash and tweets up top. this will provide lots of good sound and you can still hide all the speakers for the "stock" look

That's why you buy the ones made by Kicker which I stated in my original post. I've been doing car audio for over 10 years, I think I'm a little more advanced than to throw out random bullshit emoji

And don't put tweeters in the dash locations. Cosign refraction from the angle of the glass will cause drop-outs in your dynamic range. And there's no room for a 4" under the dash. The holes are there but stuff is mounted too close to the holes to put a speaker in. Well, on the drivers side.

I wasn't saying to put that arrangement in an Eclipse btw, just what I had in my truck.

Yeah I only come to 2gnt now for this thread to answer questions. I've been on here for almost 3 years aswering stuff in this forum. I got tired of it cuz it was mostly the same questions or when you told people the correct way to do things it was always "too hard" or "too expensive" or whatever reason they gave cuz they wanted to do it themselves.

I have noticed alot of the same questions, and the too hard, heard that more times than not. If everyone in 2gnt had that outlook then none of us would prob be here.

BTW about the tweeters, hes rite about them on ur doors, wont get the best sound q you could possibly get. The best places i've found is on the top corners of ur front windshield (very popular now) and on the tops of ur plastic pillars.

Yeah the ones in my truck where on the Apillars level with my ears. I put the ones in my car in the doors like that more for stealthiness. They were 1" Polk MOMO tweets and they were red with a black housing, so they would stick out like a sore thumb and I didn't want people trying to break in or pull them off if left the windows down.
