I have 2 Rockford Fosgate RFD2212 12's DVC that are rated at 500 rms and 1000 max. I'm thinking about getting a Profile Clarus Series CL800 that's rated at 300 watts x 2 at 2 ohms and 600 watts x 1 at 4 ohms. Dose anyone have this amp? How is it? would it be enough power for my subs? I do not want to under power them. Also which wiring diagram should I use
or
the first one would run with the amp bridged with a rating of 600 watts x 1 at 4 ohms and the second one would run with the amp in normal 2 channel mode with a rating of 300 x 2 at 2 ohms..... what are the benefits of wiring it the first way? What are the benefits of wiring it the second way? What are ohms? Thanks for the help!

Well either way you look at it, the subs will get 300 watts. Its just 2 different ways to wire it. If your amp really is 300x2 @ 2ohms, then by paralleling each 4 ohm coil you get 2 ohms. And in the second diagram, they are putting each coil in the sub in series, thus getting an 8 ohmn sub, then paralleling the 2 subs together to get 4 ohmn. Ohms is the name for resistance in an electrical componet, or circuit. I would just wire 1 sub to each channel of the amp. No way is more benificial than the other, both setups will see the same power. Its just easire to wire the first setup. Also, the profile isn't a bad amp, but i think you can get some more power to the subs. Those are good subs that can handle more power, usually you want to match up the rms rating of the sub with the rms rating of the amp. I don't have any personal experience with profile, but haven't heard anything really bad about em. For the price i suppose, its ok. Don't know if its a "true" 300 watts x2 either...A true wattage amp in this range should be in the price of about 300-400 bucks..

I think now im going to get 2 Profile Clarus CL600M which is rated at 450 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms rms. That way each sub is getting a enough power. In my opinion the profile clarus series is a good performance/value buy... well the best that I have seen. Does anyone have any thing bad to say about this amp?
